Her best friend and musician Taylor Swift comes in at a close second with 97 Million followers while socialite and business woman Kim Kardashian represents the 30 something’s with 91.7 Million followers. Which is kind of a big deal since young female celebrities are the most favoured on the photo and video sharing site.
Socialite-Businesswoman joins the exclusive 'millionaires' club
As of today, singer and former Disney actress Selena Gomez is among the most followed celebrities in the world with 108m followers.
Closer home Lupita Nyong’o leads the pack with 3.5 Million followers showing that her account has grown exponentially from mid-April last year when she had 2.5 million followers.
Huddah Monroe recently came in 2 among the Kenyan celebrities with 1 Million followers which is quite a feat since she does not have the international-appeal Lupita Nyong’o has.
Other celebrities worth a mention includes news anchor and travelling-aficionado Larry Madowo with 508,000 followers. Despite her controversy and enviable assets, Vera Sidika is unfortunately struggling in the site when compared to fierce-rival Huddah Monroe as she has 503,000 followers.
Fashion blogger Sharon Mundia also has a 6 digit followership with 221,000 followers which I think would have been higher if she hadn’t taken a hiatus from social media. Julie Gichuru also gets an honourable mention on the site with 345, 000 followers.
Other figures who are doing well on the platform are Maina Kageni with 287,000 followers and Caroline Mutoko has a bright future on the site with 106,000 followers with only 34 posts!
