At 6.00 am October 26th 2015, revered news anchor Janet Mbugua was wheeled into surgery at Aga Khan Hospital for her caesarean section.

44 minutes later, Ethan Huru Ndichu came into the world with the doctor announcing his presence with a simple ‘here is your son.’ to the eager parents. And Janet burst into tears of joy as the doctor placed little Ethan into her waiting arms.

In her blog, Janet went on to describe this moment as ‘a moment that made time stand still; here was this beautiful being that had been growing inside me, preparing to come into the world. I kissed him, crying, but wasn’t able to hold him because I still had to be stitched up.’

After Janet was stitched up and Huru's vitals had been checked, the couple announced the birth of their son to fans on Instagram with a simple picture of Huru with his eyes shut.

However, that was the last we saw of Huru until last year when Janet finally unveiled her now-grown son's face during his first birthday.

“#Happy1stBirthdayHuru! Where did the time go? We love you, we thank God for you. #TheJourneyWithJanet.” She captioned the photo below announcing his first birthday.

And from then on, we can’t get enough of the little one, especially because he looks so much like his mum. Here is a photo of Janet and Huru smiling so hard that shows that her gene game is too strong!
