Ladies meet Sudan, the last male northern white rhino and the Most Eligible Bachelor in the world.
This precarious situation is what has forced Ol Pejeta Conservancy to think outside the box and race against time to save the last species of White Rhino.
After failing to breed naturally with his two female northern white rhino counterparts, Najin and Fatu due to a range of issues including old age, Conservationists had to be creative.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy has now partnered with Tinder, the world's leading social app for meeting new people, to launch a new campaign to raise awareness about Sudan 'The Most Eligible Bachelor in the World'.
"This represents the last option to save the species after all previous breeding attempts proved futile," Ricahrd Vigne, the Conservancy's CEO, said.
The goal of this campaign is to raise the $9 million needed for ongoing research into Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) that could potentially achieve successful pregnancies and gradually build up a viable herd of northern white rhinos, protecting the northern white rhino from going into extinction in the process.
When Tinder users 'swipe right' on Sudan's profile, they will be directed to Ol Pejeta conservancy page from which they can donate towards this cause.
"We partnered with Ol Pejeta conservancy to give the most eligible bachelor in the world a chance to meet his match," said Matt David, Head of Communications and Marketing at Tinder. "We are optimistic given Sudan's profile will be seen on Tinder in 190 countries and over 40 languages."
The good news is that there are 17,000 other potential female southern white rhino suitors across the world and campaigners are hoping to raise the money to come the connection happen.
Now that you know about the most eligible bachelor in the world why don’t you go to tinder and meet him?
