'Jimmy Kimmel Live' tricks Trump supporters into detailing why they think Hillary Clinton should be impeached

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" talked to people in LA about why they think Hillary Clinton should be impeached — even though Clinton currently holds no public office.

  • "Jimmy Kimmel Live" asked supporters of President Donald Trump whether they believed that former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton should be impeached, even though she does not hold public office.
  • While most agreed that Clinton should be impeached, not many were able to name specific crimes she has allegedly committed.
  • Although Clinton has been accused of misconduct in connection with the Uranium One deal, her involvement with the Trump-Russia dossier, and her missing emails, many of these scandals have been debunked.

With the dizzying amount of criminal allegations floating around about President Donald Trump and former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" decided to ask Trump supporters on the streets of Los Angeles why they think Clinton should be impeached, even though she holds no public office.

In a clip that aired Tuesday night, numerous people told one of the show's correspondents in Los Angeles that they though Clinton should definitely be impeached, but few were able to list any specific crimes she has committed.

"Girl, I'm not a political person at all so I really have no clue," one woman said when asked what crimes Clinton committed, after stating she should be impeached.

Another man replied, "That's like a wide range of crimes, political crimes, I think human crimes, the list could go on."

Yet another man said, "Extortion, treason, if there was a Benedict Arnold law it'd be her."

Some referenced the Uranium One deal, an agreement made in 2010 in which part of a Canadian mining company with stakes in the western US was sold to Russian energy agency Rostam, and which was approved under Clinton's State Department.

But as Shep Smith of Fox News pointed out, the deal also gained the approval of a nine-person panel and then-President Barack Obama, and Clinton herself never personally signed off on it. In addition, the uranium mined by the company was not shipped off to Russia as Trump has himself alleged. Nevertheless, the Justice Department has reportedly launched an investigation into the matter.

Clinton has also come under fire for her connection to the creation of the unverified dossier of allegations surrounding Trump and Russia, as well as the familiar election campaign issue of her missing emails. However, no charges have resulted from these allegations, and Clinton would not be able to be impeached if they were because, unlike Trump, she is not currently in office.

Only one person in Kimmel's clip caught onto this fact.

"If she broke the law and they found out that she — oh, impeached? No, Hillary ain't even in office," the last man in the segment said. "Never mind, you're trying to get me."
