In a report by the local daily, the middle-aged man worked in one of the government ministries.

He reportedly avoided going through the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) for security reasons and instead traveled to Namanga by road, before crossing the border to neighboring Tanzania.

Dr. Akombe disclosed that her brother was forced to pass through five countries in eight days before finally landing to where he is currently hiding.

The IEBC official mentioned that she feels responsible for the current predicament the brother was in.

“He is a man who loves this country and had always resisted our attempts to get him something to do abroad.  I feel responsible for it. It feels bad but what can you do about it?” she posed.
