President Uhuru to grace ANC's 106th anniversary celebrations
President Uhuru will be among high-profile leaders expected to grace the ceremony.
President Kenyatta, who is on an official visit in the country, said the two countries’ ruling parties – Jubilee and the ANC – would begin working together.
“I am happy to participate in the ANC birthday celebrations. We want to see how political parties in Africa can cooperate,” he said.
Mr. Kenyatta. on Thursday, held talks with South African president Jacob Zuma where the heads of state discussed matters of mutual interest, including trade, digital infrastructure, peace and security and regional issues.
He indicated that he will return to South Africa sometime in the first quarter of this year to sign bilateral agreements reached with his counterpart President Zuma.
“In the first quarter I hope to conclude strong agreements,” said President Kenyatta in reference to his forthcoming return visit.
During the three-day state visit, President Kenyatta will also meet with Cyril Ramaphosa, the newly- elected leader of South Africa’s ruling African National Congress (ANC) party. Ramaphosa was picked to succeed President Zuma as leader of the ANC in a national congress last month.
