Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru is dead
The governor was on his way back to Nairobi
The Governor passed away Tuesday morning after he was involved in a grisly road accident.
His Mercedes Benz was involved in a road accident at Kabati Makenji area on the Thika-Muranga road while on his way to Nairobi.
The governor had earlier been rushed to the Thika Level 5 Hospital in critical condition after the accident.

Also on the vehicle were two of his security guards, his personal assistant and the driver.
The late Gakuru's body has been transferred to the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi.
