Anthony Joshua is ignoring all the speculation surrounding his next fight and focusing on one of the things he does best — train like a beast.

Joshua added the WBO heavyweight world boxing title to his WBA, IBF, and IBO belts when he overcame resilient fighter Joseph Parker in his last bout in March.

His promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sports is now discussing a super showdown with Alabama big man Deontay Wilder — a hard-hitting heavyweight who holds the last major belt in the division, the WBC championship.

Wilder's representatives believe Hearn has lowballed them in negotiations so far as they have been offered a flat $12.5 million fee, which is substantially below the $20 million Wilder's team expects.

Wilder, meanwhile, has called Joshua "a joke," and went on to attack him on social media. But rather than react, Joshua called for "professionalism" and has now directed his energy toward his gymwork.

In the video below, posted as an Instagram story this week, Joshua can be seen lifting 40 kilograms — but what makes the exercise even more impressive is that he's lifting the weight with his neck.

Strengthening the neck is a fundamental aspect of a fighter's regime.

Not all sports require a strong neck, but boxers need one because of the high impact nature of the sport.
