Equity Bank and KCB also nominated for Best Retail Bank in Africa award
Joshua Oigara (KCB Group), James Mwangi (Equity Bank) and Jeremy Awori (Barclays Bank) are all in contention to win the award that also includes a nominee from Tanzania, Egypt and Nigeria each.
Additionally, Equity bank and KCB were nominated for the Best Retail Bank in Africa award alongside EcoBank, Ghana’s UBA Bank and SBM bank in Mauritius.
The awards recognizes top-ranking individuals and institutions setting new benchmarks for performance and pushing the boundaries within the banking industry.
The KCB Foundation created to implement the group’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs was selected for the Socially Responsible Bank of the Year award.
The 2017 African Baker Awards will take place during the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) on Wednesday 23rd May at the gorgeous Regency Hyatt in Ahmedabad, India.
It is the first time the AfDB’s Annual meetings will be held in India, and specifically in the Gujarat State, where President Modi used to be Governor.
