Kenya's most profitable company opens a new headquarter
The new branch is part of its regionalization strategy.
Telecommunication giant Safaricom on Tuesday opened its fourth regional headquarter in Kisumu as part of its regionalization strategy aimed at strengthening customer services across the country.
During the opening ceremony the company's Chief executive officer, Bob Collymore said new products targeting the region would soon be rolled out to drive up sales.
“The strategy consolidates our investments around customer needs creating higher revenues. The opening of such centres has seen us rope in three million new clients,” he said.

The Kisumu regional office will serve ten counties in Western and Nyanza including Busia, Bungoma, Homabay, Kakamega, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Nyamira, Siaya, Vihiga and parts of Narok county.
“This strategy has led to increased convenience for Safaricom customers, and enables us to have a closer understanding of their needs when designing our products and services,” Bob Collymore added.
He said that over the last two years, the telco has increased its network coverage in the Western region by 71 per cent.
200 new transmission sites would be also be established to enhance 3G and 4G coverage across the country.
Safaricom is one of Kenya’s most profitable companies and recorded a massive full year net profit of Sh45.1 billion for the year ending March 2017.
This was an 18.3 per cent increase compared to Sh38.10 billion in 2016.
