More and more trendy tech savvy Africans are freezing every moment of their life for eternity.

It is not rocket science therefore that Tecno latest phone, Camon CX which was launched on Thursday in Nairobi had figured out this.

“Generally globally people like to take photos of themselves and then share it on the social networks, we have been in the African market like in Kenya for a long time and we do studies to understand what consumers want and for me one of the demands from consumers is Selfies and so because of this insight that really drove us to bring the latest visual technology in our latest smartphone, the Camon CX”  Ms Beehong Hong, Transsion Chief Marketing Officer said during the launch.

Furthermore Kenya is among the most tech savvy African country and its mobile and internet penetration are among the highest in Africa at 83% and 58% respectively of the 44.35 million population.

Camon CX uses a smart image sensor composed of 16 mega pixel sensors in the front camera, coupled with unique ‘4 in 1’ technology.

Each pixel sensor detects light, captures individual images and converts the information into signals before forming the final image, resulting in selfies that are 30 percent brighter, capturing special moments perfectly.

All ten of the world’s youngest countries are in Africa according to the United Nations data while globally the country which takes the most Selfies is Australia, followed by USA and then Canada.

“We really want to deliver good quality Selfie phone cameras to our consumers” Ms Hong added.

The ‘4 in 1’ technology also pairs effective denoising technology, obtaining a signal-to-noise (SNR) 1.7 times better, with the newest Smart Denoise technology to produce amazingly clear images even in low light. The dual-front flash feature goes further, and allows Camon CX users to take amazing quality selfies in dark environments where previous artificial light would blur and distort images.

1 million selfies are taken globally each day by 18 to 24 year old according to infographics.
