Apple launch iPhone X, their most expensive phone to date
Most expensive iPhone launched
The iPhone X has a glass front and back which according to Apple “is the most durable in a smartphone.” It is water and dust resistant.
It has been completely upgraded- with a more vibrant and responsive edge-to-edge 5.8 in. display. The screen has an OLED display called a Super Retina Display which has better colour accuracy and distinction.
The iPhone X Super Retina display supports 2046×1125 resolution, with 455 PPI, and HDR in both Dolby Vision and HDR.
Users can wake up their device by picking it up or swiping across any part of the screen. Even without a “home” button, the phone is intuitive. To close an app, simply swipe up on the screen and throw it away.
To activate Siri, one simply says “Hey Siri” or presses the side button.
The phone unlocks with a face scan. Apple is calling it FaceID. It is a depth-sensing front camera that will unlock the phone by identifying the user’s face.
The back camera features a 12MP sensor. The selfie cam has an inbuilt infrared 3D scanner which allows for augmented reality effects. The iPhone X also has animojis which are animated 3D emojis. The selfie and back camera have received an image stabilization upgrade.
The battery life is reportedly two hours longer than the iPhone 7. The wireless charging on the new iPhones is coming with a new accessory called AirPower. It’s a mat that lets users charge their iPhones, Apple Watch and AirPods simultaneously.
The iPhone X will be released in November 2017 and will retail at $999 for the 64GB model.
