Babu Owino Finally Released

Appearing before Kibera Law Courts, Mr Owino was released on a Sh200,000 cash bail or Sh500,000 bond.

Babu was re-arrested on Wednesday for attacking a voter during the August 8 General Election.

During the ruling, the presiding magistrate warned Owino not to interfere with or intimidate witnesses or risk cancellation of bond.

The former University of Nairobi student leader was accused of attacking a voter identified as Joshua Otiende during the polls.

Appearing at the Kibera Law Courts Babu was accused of badly injuring Otiendo.

"On 8 day of August 2017 at Soweto Social Hall Kayole Sub County within Nairobi County in the Republic of Kenya jointly with others not before Court unlawfully did grievous harm to Joshua Otieno Otiende," the charge sheet read.
