Maraga left the country on Wednesday for Kigali, Rwanda where he is set to attend the 14th annual meeting for the East African Magistrates and Judges Association (EAMJA).

The EAMJA conference main agenda will be to deliberate on ways of improving the delivery of justice in the region.

According to the Nation, among those invited to attend are the Chief Justices of Uganda and Rwanda and the president of the East African Court of Justice along with other top judiciary officials from the region.

The theme of the conference is “Enhancing the use of ICT for an Effective, Transparent and Accountable Administration of Courts in East Africa”.

The conference will also be attended by the chief justices of Uganda and Rwanda and the president of the East African Court of Justice along with other top judiciary officials from the region.

The Kenyan delegation also includes Supreme Court Judge Isaac Lenaola and Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Anne Amadi.

In September, Chief Justice David Maraga sparked excitement across after he attended the opening of the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Conference, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Maraga's name was met with a huge and thunderous applause from his fellow peers across the globe after he was introduced at the conference in Tanzania.

The reaction was an ominous sign of the respect that Kenya's Chief Justice wields not only across the continent but also worldwide following the historic ruling by the Supreme Court that nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta's win during the August 8 elections.

At the conference, Maraga, 66, was given a special mention before the Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges.

"We are deeply honoured by your presence - Hon Chief Justice Maraga," the host, Tanzania Chief Justice Ibrahim Juma said.
