NASA’s billionaire sponsor in Sh16m debt suit
The businessman has been sued over a Sh16 million debt.

Helicopter Charter Service Lady Lori has sued Wanjigi over a Sh16.5 million debt in maintenance and hangar fees.
According to Nairobi News, the firm has sued Wanjigi and two of his firms; Tyl Limited and Kwacha Group of Companies and sought an order barring him from taking possession of his chopper until he had settled the debt.

Wanjigi is said to have acquired the services of Lady Lori back in 2014 to service his aircraft and again in 2015 for hangar space services.
The firm has now claimed Wanjigi and his two firms now want to take back the aircraft without settling the debt.
The chopper is the same one used by NASA leader Raila Odinga in his campaigns in the run up to the August 8, elections.
Wanjigi and his two companies are yet to respond to the suit.
In the past year, Wanjigi has emerged as the powerful behind-the-scenes operator within NASA and a primary source of funding for Raila’s campaign.

The business mogul was part of the NASA technical team and advisors behind the logistics and campaign machinery for Raila.
Before he rose to financial fame, Wanjigi worked at his father’s company in Westlands, Nairobi, after he returned from the University of York, having enrolled at the Canadian institution in 1982 shortly after leaving St Mary’s School, Nairobi.
Wanjigi has also been involved in the multi-million shilling telecommunication business.
