Jubilee leaders cause drama at State House

There was drama at Nakuru State House after Nyamira and Kisii Jubilee leaders scrambled and almost fought over food.

After president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto had finished their address, the leaders remained behind for meals.However, trouble began when word spread that there was little food remaining, Which irked politicians from the Abagusii region.

A section of the leaders pounced into the little remaining meals without washing their hands, while others descended on the caterers inquiring what had happened to the rest of the food. "When they were told the food was finished, the angry and hungry lot descended on some of the caterers who scampered for safety," a source who was at the venue told the Star.Some leaders blamed former Kisii Senator Chris Obure whom they accused of fleeing with their money, claims he vehemently denied."These are just lies. Those spreading such rumors are just crazy fellows who want the whole thing to be blown out of context. I have not taken anyone's money," Obure affirmed. Meanwhile, the Abagusii community announced that they would back Kenyatta in the repeat polls in October 2017. The President exuded confidence that he would trounce Opposition leader Raila Odinga in the repeat polls.

"With your support, I am optimistic that we will reclaim our victory that was overturned by the Supreme Court,” the Head of State said during the meeting.

Among the leaders who were present included: former Kisii Senator Chris Obure, MPs Shadarack Mose (Kitutu Masaba), Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango), Milly Omanga (nominated), Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West), Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache North) and Richard Tongi (Nyaribari Chache).
