Moses Kuria to Pay Martha Karua Sh20 Million After Linking her to Procurement of ICC Witnesses

Moses Kuria in more trouble

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria could be forced to part with a whopping Sh20 Million after scandalous remarks he made towards Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua.

Karua took Kuria to court for linking her to the procurement of witnesses, who were allegedly used to fix Deputy President William Ruto in the crime against humanity cases at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The former Kirinyaga Gubernatorial aspirant claimed that the legislator’s utterances were malicious, unwarranted and defamatory.

Karua also told the court that her image and reputation, as well as her standing as a politician, businesswoman, family woman and an advocate, was damaged following Kuria’s remarks.

“Unless the defendant is compelled by this honorable court to cease maligning my name and further injuring my reputation, I stand to suffer irreparable harm from his reckless and unwarranted attack on my integrity on grounds which he cannot substantiate," Karua remarked.

The renowned politician firmly stated that she has never met Kuria to discuss the procurement of fake witnesses for the ICC prosecutor.

In September 2015 while speaking in Kapsokwony, Bungoma County, the Gatundu MP divulged that he met Karua and other leaders at Club Galileo in Westlands where the plan was hatched.

“In addition, he stated that I met him and others at Club Galileo in Westlands where we devised a scheme to recruit witnesses against the Deputy President for the case against him,” Karua told the court.

The case will be heard on November 17.
