However, when Ruto introduced his boss’s son to greet the Nandi residents, the royal blooded Muhoho could not hide his inability to converse in the national language Swahili.
Uhuru’s son raised his smart phone and painfully read out a message that was laden with what seemed like a heavy mzungu accent.
“Nmefurahi sana kufika hapa Nandi County, ni mara yangu ya pili kufika Nandi. Asanteni sana kwa kuwa marafiki zetu. Wakenya tufanye kazi pamoja na nawaomba vijana tupige kura kwa Amani. Mungu awabariki (I am very happy to be here in Nandi county, It’s my second time to be in Nandi. Thank you very much for being our friends. Kenyans should work together and the youth should vote peacefully. God bless you),” the President’s youngest son stated as the crowd cheered.
However, Kenyan netizens were not as amused as the residents of Kaptumo village in Nandi.
Social media users ridiculed the President’s son, many of them accusing him of being out of touch with the common mwananchi.
