Raila reveals controversial plan if Uhuru wins October 26 Election

NASA leader Raila Odinga has revealed some rather controversial plans that he intends to use in the eventuality that President Uhuru Kenyatta wins the October 26 repeat poll.

In an interview with the Sunday Nation, Odinga stated that he would not recognize Kenyatta’s win, adding that going back to the Supreme Court was not a possibility.

According to Odinga, going back to the Supreme Court would only serve to legitimize the October 26 poll which NASA does not recognize.

“It (filing a petition) will be a waste of time. As far as we are concerned, this is not an election. Therefore, it is not a legal matter but a political one which must be dealt with as such,” Odinga stated.

The former Prime Minister warned President Kenyatta that there would be no election and promised to deliver the final way forward on October 25, the day before the scheduled repeat election.

Pushed to speak more of his plans, Odinga hinted that the Opposition was likely to change its mass action strategy to more advanced ways of pushing for change.

“We are employing different tactics, medium and long term strategies. Street protests have limitations, they are not an end in themselves. Moving forward, we will adjust the tactics. From picketing to boycotting products, there are several others that I don’t want to say now.

“I will give a way forward on October 25. But the President should know that there will be no elections,” the NASA leader stated.

Among the options the Odinga - led coalition is considering is a change in its presidential line up that would have Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the NASA candindates.
