However, the latest pay cut will not affect that of the IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati who last Saturday declared President Uhuru Kenyatta winner of the just concluded General Elections.

The gazette notice also indicated that members and vice-chairpersons of all constitutional commissions will have their basic pay reduced from Sh650,000 to Sh621,250 a month.

In a bid to tame the ballooning wage bill, the SRC Chairperson Sarah Serem in July announced pay cuts for the newly elected officials including President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President-elect William Ruto along with the cabinet secretaries.

The new salary structure for State Officers after the just concluded elections will see the President earn a monthly gross salary of Sh1,443,750 down from Sh1.6 million.

The Deputy President will earn Sh1.2 million down from the current Sh1.4 million.
