The three major TV stations have been off for the last seven days

The demonstrations come seven days after the government Switched off three major TV stations for airing Raila Odinga’s oath taking ceremony.

Kenyans from all walks of life’s have been calling upon the state to end that media shutdown.

On Friday Baringo Senator and Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology Chair Gideon Moi asked the government to restore signals of TV stations, which have been off air since Tuesday.

In a statement seen by Pulselive.co.ke, the Senator told the government to obey a court order by High Court judge Justice Chacha Mwita ordering it to restore the signals of Citizen TV, NTV and KTN.

Mr Moi, who is also the chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology, faulted the move by the government to switch off the stations, saying media freedom is enshrined in the Constitution, which State swore to abide by and protect.
