The comedienne from Elgeyo Marakwet has managed to make a name for herself in a male-dominated industry due to her funny jokes delivered in a casual way and the ‘Chibambe’ phrase which has become her signature statement.
During an interview on Radio Jambo’s ‘Waliobobea', Jemutai revealed that her entrance into comedy was inspired by Teacher Wanjiku and David The Student on Churchill Live.
“I used to watch them on Churchill Live and I found their performances to be very interesting and inspiring. They cultivated my interest in comedy and since then, it is what I always wanted to do,” she said.

Aside from her delivery of jokes, Jemutai is known for her eye-catching outfit which is a headscarf, frumpy jacket and her gourd of mursik.
Jemutai recently caused a stir when she stepped out in a totally new look. Showing off her body in a red dress and nude heels, Jemutai proved to many that she is as sexy as she is funny.
