Ngoma Festival: All that went down in Kenya’s biggest Old School event

Ngoma festival, The Kenyan Old School edition

Over the weekend Ngoma festival went down in Carnivore in an event never witnessed. People from all walks of life showed up for the well planned occasion that had a huge turnout.

The event which was a success is still the talk of town two days later with attendees praising the whole show and how it reminisces and brings the good old vibe.

The artists who sang were aptitude and dexterity combined. From Nameless to Redsan to Wyre the lovechild music combined was just on a level of its own.

Celebrated music legends gave justice to the show that was attended by other Kenyan artists who attended as a show of support and respect to the veteran singers. Sauti Sol, Diamond Platnumz, Jaguar, Wangeci, H_art the band, Gilad, Timmy T Dat, Vivianne and other artists’ presence was loudly felt.

Other prominent people who were present were; Senator Johnson Sakaja, Chipukeezy, Willy M Tuva, Michelle Morgan, Alex Mwakideu, Jalang’o, Nina Shaban among others.

#NgomaFestival trended at number one Twitter for two days with tweeps sharing their experiences in the event.

On the decks was DJ Joe Mfalme, DJ Pinye and DJ essential. They offered nothing but the best.

Nairobi Senator Johnston Sakaja is the coolest rapper in town. The lad is a good rapper apart from his good leadership skills.

Fallen music legends were well represented and their songs were sang. Apparently the majority sang along word by word and one could easily think they had attended classes to train for the concert.

Among the artists who sang were Nameless, Redsan, Nonini, Jua Kali, Nazizi, Wyre the lovechild, Mr Lenny, Jimwat, Mr. Lenny and Pilipili. Their presentation was literally fire. Shaffie Weru was the main host of the day.

The event played exclusively Kenyan TBT songs. The attendees danced all night long despite the cold weather and muddy environment.

The premier proved that good songs are never forgotten no matter when it was sang. The whole thing was a perfect fuse of good collections by different artistes.

Wyre the lovechild celebrated his birthday in style. His wife showed up in the middle of his performance with a cake forcing the performance to be stopped and everyone sang wishing him a happy birthday. What a way to be celebrated on a birthday!
