Eldoret sets the bar for local film with their first ever movie launch.

The Eldoret Film Makers Association launched its first feature film to great reviews and success at the 64 Resort and Sporting Club, Eldoret on Friday.
The film Kumbe is a dramatic film that highlights drugs, prostitution, sponsored relationships, sex, politics, fashion and lifestyle.
Its synopsis states:
Young Njonjo finds himself alone on the streets after his poor mother commits suicide. He has to hustle himself out of the dangerous street life that leaves one of his best friends murdered. Things get complicated after Mariah, a wealthy and ruthless man’s daughter falls in love with him.
The film is set in modern day Eldoret, Nakuru and Kitale.
It stars Marine Gleeson as Njonjo, Maryanne Kimani (Njonjo’s mum), Sam (fisi), MC Nick (Sponsor), and Natasha Gnittel (Mariah’s mother).
Speaking to Eldoret Leo the Association’s chair Natasha Gnittel announced plans to launch another film. It is known as Naked Eyes following the life of a blind girl and will be launched at the Hotel Goshen Eldoret on September 7.
The Eldoret Film Makers Association is showing no signs of slowing down. With Eldoret Leo praising the film, “The film is nothing short of professional production, great acting and delivery. Kumbe sets the bar high for other film makers in the country.”
