Speaking to Dizzim Online, Esma stated that people have decided to create their own fake stories around her booming business of selling cosmetics and African clothes.

Asked on why she kept mum while the news of her arrest were spreading like bush fire, Esma said that she can’t prevent people from talking.
“Mimi mwenyewe hizi habari nimeskia, lakini sio za kweli yani nimezion amitandanoni kwa hiyo nimeamua tu kukaa kimya. Stori nyingi watu huwa tu wanatung, kwa hiyo sijui kwanini watu wakamua tumia hii, unajua mtu unapokuwa unapiga hatua ya kuenmdela unajua watu lazima watu wajaribu kukurudisha nyuma. Kuna vitu vingine vimeongleka, mimi nimekwazika unaju mtu kukuingialia katika riziki yako ya biashara mtu anaandika ili akuharibia wateje najiskia vibaya sana. Kwa hiyo nimeacha tu waongee wakimaliza wataacha." said Esma Platnumz
Banned cosmetics
Earlier on, media reports had indicated that Esma, (who was born of the same mother with Diamond but from a different father) had been arrested and detained at Mabatini police station in Dar es Salaam after she was nabbed by Tanzanian Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA) for selling cosmetics that have been banned for being harmful to consumers.
