Word on the street was that Diamond was paid one million Kenya shillings to perform while other performers got much less. But the 1 Million figure is far from the truth as a source (from the organizing team) who spoke to pulselive.co.ke on condition of anonymity revealed. The ‘Marry You’ hitmaker made 6.5 Million Kenyan Shillings that night which shouldn’t come as a surprise as he was paid 5 Million for the Ameru Festival last year.
The organisers also paid 105,000 Kenya Shillings on Day 1 for the singer to sleep at Hemmingways and on day two 156,000 Kshs was spent at Enashipai Resort & Spa in Naivasha. The organisers also catered for his and his entourage's plane tickets and travel in the country.

It may seem a little steep for some people, but all the payments made to Diamond and for Diamond are in line with a statement released last year by Diamond’s management. According to the statement, the singer charges 40,000 dollars (4.1 Million Kshs) per performance but if you delay and they release the song in the middle of the month you will part with an additional 5,000 Dollars (516,550 Kshs).
