Dowry is an important process before the marriage where a husband pays a certain amount of money or gives out a number of gifts to the bride’s family as a form of gratitude.

Some people break the bank to come up with dowry while others give out what they can afford such as NTV’s Rashid Abdalla.

In an interview with True Love Magazine,Rashid disclosed that 2 weeks after meeting the Citizen news anchor he engaged her and later paid dowry of only a prayer mat and the Quran.

And that is because it was what he could afford at that time since he earned only Sh5,000 as salary. Thankfully, Lulu understood. The two are proof that you don’t have to break the bank to pay dowry as they have been together since 2007.

And they are not only happily married but have managed to build a successful career on TV and on film together. The couple recently debuted their joint project ‘Aziza’ with their immediate one ‘Maza’ getting a nod at ‘Kalasha Awards’. ‘Maza’ premiered in August 2017 and depicts the unfolding intrigues and drama of a once successful family whose strong bond is crushed by a best friend’s envy in one night.
