The JCC's preacher's prophetic statement has caused some to slam her.
Critics feel that the JCC clerics are deeply committed to the acquisition of material possessions as opposed to serious doctrine.
The fact that they are one of the wealthiest Kenyan preachers doesn’t help things as critics have also slated them for living lavishly. But Kathy Kiuna maintains that she has no apologies for the lavish life she enjoys and the kind of lavish lifestyle she wants her congregants to enjoy.
“Those who talk only know the ‘after’; they should have seen the ‘before’ to appreciate the work of God. God has raised us up in the church and the church is as good as its flock if the flock is walking in poverty, so will the church. Many in our congregation are living well; this is just the tip of the iceberg, we are only warming up, we are coming. We were called by God to raise leaders and that is exactly what we are doing — raising people to be the best they can be, and as they grow, so do we.” She said during an interview.
And it seems that is not only her congregants she wants to live well as she extended her gospel to Kenyans on Twitter in a prophetic tweet that read “Before the end of December you shall be driving your own car in Jesus name! #40DaysOfGlory.”
The harmless tweet attracted some snarky comments online with many admonishing her for preaching prosperity instead of preaching peace, repentance and spiritual growth.
Here are just some of the reactions:
