Kenya Red Cross Comes to the Rescue of 39 Students

Rescue comes as schools re-open

This comes as schools re-open for the first term of 2018 after a two month holidays break.

The Kenya Red Cross Kisumu branch used their ambulance vehicles to ensure that the students got their various schools on time.

The case has been the same in most parts of the country including the capital city Nairobi where students have been seen spending cold nights at the Bus station.

NTSA ban

The ban on night travel has had parents raise concerns and at the same time calling for the lifting of the ban to enable their children get to school on time.

The ban according to NTSA was arrived at after consultations with the ministry of transport and other stakeholders in the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of Government, as a measure of reducing road accidents in the country.

The road accidents have claimed over one hundred lives in the months of December 2017.

36 people lost their lives after a bus collided head on with a truck on 31 of December.
