Gospel artist under fire after controversial song (Video)

The song has been described as mockery and lack of respect for the church

On May 14, a gospel artist identified as Kennon dropped a song dubbed “Kama Pupu” describing how to flash the devil in the toilet in the name of a gospel song.

Appearing on chipukeezy show, Kennon tried to defend his acts and the type of music he ventures in but many could not agree with him.

Going by the comments on his YouTube Channel, many people have been disappointed with the lyrics composed and what a gospel song should sound like.

Here are some of the contents left under the song;

“I am saddened by this generation's "gospel" artists. Writing music just for money. There's no Spirit of God in this. Seek God and sink deep into the reading of His Word and prayer. Write scripture inspired music and not just mentioning the Name of Jesus. While at it seek God for originality.”

“My goodness!!please...this is rubbish!”

“Nonsense what kind of Gospel music is this”

“Shame on you Get someone to write muziq with content ... ukiishiwa na idea acha ku shame gospel”

“Who verified this before it came on YouTube? There is no creativity, inspiration, spirituality, musicality etc. There is nothing in this video. This is not a style of music. It is lack of content and a mockery to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let us stop reducing the quality of gospel music. This young man is looking for fame but at what expense? Go back to secular and sing with other people who do trap music. Maybe they will accept you there. Gospel music doesn't need jokes like these. We are on a serious thing. Be here or leave. Be hot or cold.”

“Kilichochangia ukaandika huu wimbo sikijui mimi,,ila hapa usituchoche msee ,,,kama umeishiwa ideas na ungependa kuendeleza usanii wako,,tafuta mwandishi akutungie wimbo ulio na maana....content ni muhimu,,hii ata mtu hawezi skiza na mdogo wake wacha tu mzazi.”
