Kaikai, who used to work at Nation Media Group (NMG), sent out a congratulatory message to Madowo upon his appointment as the new Business Editor for BBC Africa.

While a section of the public joined Kaikai in congratulating Madowo, other Kenyans had different opinions on his new appointment.

The tweet attracted more that 487 re-tweets and 110 replies that expressed the feelings of Kenyans On Twitter (KOT)
Mixed Reactions
One Benji Ndolo who happens to be Human Rights advocate and Political strategist had this to say, “I find his style repugnant the exact opposite of his boss Linus and so how one has mentored the other is something I can't reconcile in my mind. Hahaha Funny”
Another user Omondi Kevin differed sharply with Ndolo “You are always very bitter Benji. Must one copy the mentor? Or should one learn and execute in a personalised manner? Let Larry be. He's being himself boss.”

John Ogala stated; “Wait!!! Absolute fidelity to what???? Come on. Don't lie to a brother, even if he has landed a better placement than you. Tell him the truth. He was a far cry from being what you paint him as. Personally, I'm glad he left. His ego is his Achilles heel”

Larry Joins BBC
Madowo will be the Business Editor leading the Business unit in Africa. He started his new role today on April 11, 2018.
