Awinja had a secret wedding and 5 other things you didn't know about the actress' pregnancy

Awinja’s pregnancy announcement this week was one of the biggest surprises of this year and many compared it to Beyonce’s pregnancy announcement at the first day of Black History Month.

Pregnancy life suits her

Close to a week after revealing that she was on her 3 trimester, Awinja has revealed to Pulse that she has been secretly married for a year. Answering the question many fans had on their minds about who the father of the baby was.

Jackie and her husband have been dating for 5 years and they had a traditional marriage early last year in a covert ceremony attended by close family and friends. And the reason we didn’t get it to see it is because they have decided to keep their private life under wraps.

From the interview we also gathered a few things about her pregnancy and we also added in a few things of our own and here they are :

1.It was planned for 2017 but the universe had other plans

“…We have been dating for a long time and have been talking about getting a baby .Personally I was looking forward to getting pregnant this year but as things would turn out, this came early.” the mother-to-be disclosed.

2.She conceived in September last year but had to keep it hush-hush

She got pregnant last September and has kept her pregnancy a secret for the reasons that her mum is very old school and was not too keen on Jackie drawing attention to herself over the pregnancy.

" It is not that I was hiding but the truth is that my mother did not want me to go loud about my pregnancy. My mother is the old school type.” She said before revealing that the only person who knew she had a bun in the oven was her designer Naomi Ng’ang’a.

3.She cried when she received news of the pregnancy as her future in entertainment was unclear

Despite making plans on the pregnancy, when she received news that she had conceived, she cried. This is due to the fact that she was afraid that the pregnancy would affect her work as it was peak season for entertainers when she conceived but fortunately things went smooth for her as her morning sickness was not brutal and her pregnancy didn't show until she was six months.

4.Is it a boy or a girl?

The couple doesn't know yet and will find out next month (April  2017) from the doctor. Something which she is excited about and we cant help but feel excited for her too.

5. Just like Beyonce who had 10,856,403 likes, her pregnancy photo  is the most liked photo of hers on Instagram

Within 4 days, the photo has garnered 9,185 likes on Instagram and has 321 comments.
