Kenyan Photographer Osborne Macharia works on Oprah Winfrey's project

Massive congrats to him

Osborne has found his niche as an Afro futuristic Photographer. His work, can be described by many as mind blowing, gob smacking, brilliant, well thought out and oh so artsy! Macharia’s past projects that brought him into the limelight, have been all about paying an ode to heroes as well as re-imagining humans in unorthodox life scenarios.

One of his projects that went viral was Nyanye, a fictional story on extravagant grannies who were once Government leaders in the 70s but have now retired and they’re high on life, traveling to exotic and remote areas within Africa to party, enjoy and explore in exclusivity.

Together with stylist Kevin Abbra, the brilliant duo has gone ahead to create many other photo series that have gone viral. Osborne’s last project was ILGELUNOT (a story of 3 blind elders of Maasai origin (originally from Kajiado) who were Black Panther’s most trusted advisors in the Kingdom of Wakanda. ) The self-taught digital photographer was commissioned by Marvel to create an exclusive art piece for the launch of Black Panther movie in London.

And now, he has added another project to his impressive profile, by working with the one and only Oprah Winfrey.

Osborne was hand picked by Hollywood Producer, Ava DuVernay to shoot key art work for Oprah’s OWN's Queen Sugar - an American drama television series created, directed and executive produced by Ava DuVernay, with Oprah Winfrey serving as an executive producer. This was Osborne’s first time shooting Hollywood actors and it’s probably just the beginning of many more milestones.

He shared the news with his fans in an Instagram post captioned,

When both Queens,  and  share your work then you know for sure you are living your purpose. Humbled to have been handpicked by Ava DuVernay to shoot the Key Art for  show and my first time shooting Hollywood actors. If i was to appreciate everyone involved to make this happen then my post would go on for days, but I appreciate everyone involved from the bottom of my heart. Styling by
