KTN’s Sophia Wanuna breaks silence after being roughed up by police at JKIA

The KTN beauty has spoken.

Police officers then tried pushing him into an Emirates flight to Dubai but he resisted shouting that he was Kenyan and the pilot cannot take off with a hostile passenger on board.

“Don’t push me! I am not boarding! I am not going! Where is my luggage? Where is my passport? I am not going anywhere! The captain cannot fly. The captain cannot fly!” He shouted as he slammed the plane forcing the flight to take off without him.

This fracas on the plane was preceded by a standoff between journalists and police that ended up with Citizen TV’s Stephen Letoo getting injured and Sophia Wanuna getting roughed up.

When Sophia and her cameraman Boni urged the cops to do their work and let them do theirs as journalists, the commanding officer tried to block the camera before sending out a warning.

“I will deal with you perpendicularly!” He warned as he left to bundle Miguna to the plane.

This incidence between Sophia and the police has led to Kenyans lauding her as brave.

“Yes I saw her....so fearless, determined, focused bravo Sophia Wanuna. Journalist of the year............ I salute you, great job even when the situation was so bad in the midst of men, ruthless police you manoeuvred and covered Miguna saga last night.” Carolyneh M Mwikya wrote with The African Voice adding “Fearless, valiant, dauntless and valorous. Kudos to @KTNKenya's Sophia Wanuna for standing up ready to be damned. World class journalism.”
