Enthusiastic dream chasers always undergo a whole heap of challenges before they make any achievement. The most difficult ones are self-doubt and denouncement. The moment one begins to doubt their capability at the same time receiving negative criticisms giving up is always the only option.

Despite all the challenges that come with starting a music career Diamond Platnumz still made to the top ten years down the line.

The talented musician from Tandale is undoubtedly the most bankable musician in East and Central Africa. Over the years he has grown to be a force to reckon with in Africa’s music industry.

He was recently featured in Episode 4 of Self Made Taste Better; a campaign that gives a nod to artists and entertainers that have boldly paved their own path to success. The campaign is run by Luc Bellaire; an iconic wine company based in French.

The Self-made artist was born in Dar es Salaam on October 1989. He was raised up in a small single room which he shared with his mother and grandmother. The grandma had to rent out two rooms so as to make ends meet.

His parents separated owing to unsolved difference. Diamond attended Chakula Bora Nursery in 1995 and later joined Tandale Primary school in 1996 and completed in 2002. He was awarded honorary degree by University of Dar es Salaaam in November 2014 for his role in exporting TZ arts and culture.

The father of three is EA highest earning, musician. He is a multi-millionaire as per the investments he has made.

The Tanzanian star charges 370k for attending a show in his native Tanzania and 2.3 M in other Countries. For audio music Collaborations he expects 277,000 from artists and 10, 553,000 for video.

Nasib spent his formative years imitating local artists. His accommodative mother bought him albums for different artists and even helped him in writing the lyrics. She even took him for talent shows hoping that his son would get a chance to showcase his talent and idea which became a bone of contention with other family members who preferred Nasib to focus on education.

As a result of his brimming passion, Diamond sold his mother’s ring so as to raise studio money, being his first ever studio time it did not triumph but it opened doors for the singer.

Dangote met Msafiri Peter who nurtured and financed the singer. ‘Nenda Kamwambie’ was then released which was a game changer for him.

Diamond sold ‘mitumba’ clothes and even worked in a filling station. He indulged in freelance photographer not as a fulfilment of his passion but to be able to raise money for his studio sessions.

Platnumz has been in the limelight for dating sizzling TV queens. The talented singer has been in a relationship with Former Miss Tanzania Wema epetu, Penny Mungilwa whos Tanzania’s VJ, his affair with Video Vixen Hamisa Mobeto whom they have a child together and Zari Hassan whom he is currently and they have kids together.

The ‘Halleluyah’ hitmaker has notched countless awards by numerous awarding organizations; Best Male Writer, Best Male Artist, Male Entertainer of the Year, African Video of the Year, Best African Male Video, Most Gifted Newcomer, East African Super hit, Best Collaboration, Artist of the Year, Best Dance Video,  Best Inspirational song among others.
