The boss lady took to Instagram to reminiscence the good times she had with Ivan while he was still alive. She shared pictures while with him as a way of celebrating the life he lived.
In a photo shared by Zari posing with Ivan and other family members, Zari captioned it, “Some serious throw back as we celebrate The Don.... can’t believe its one year tmrw since you left us.”
An online user commented on Zari’s post and wrote, “You see. Now you miss him? U don’t know what you have until you lose it,” and the mother of five quickly responded, “That’s how God wrote that story it was meant to end like that. No one is looking for sympathy we are here to celebrate his life. Stop your assumptions like you know it all.”

Ivan passed on last year on May 25 after suffering a stroke. He was immediately taken to the intensive care unit (ICU) and operated on in a bid to clear up some clots from his blood stream. Reports indicate that after he came out of the operation but unfortunately was later pronounced dead. He left behind 3 boys who are Zari Hassan’s children.
Zari has been celebrating Ivan often on her social media and in one of her recent posts she wrote, "Can't believe it's almost a year since God called you, it seems like yesterday. No day passes that I don't pray for you and mom."
The Brooklyn City schools CEO lost her mother less than two month after losing Ivan.
