Nasa MP attacked hours after press briefing
A Nasa affiliated lawmaker on Tuesday received a harsh treatment from Kenyans on Twitter after...
The former Assistant Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister earlier told journalists in parliament that the Raila Odinga led Nasa MPs will not be taking part in the process to legitimize a coup against the constitution.
Mr Mbadi was making reference to the election laws being proposed (which are set to be tabled later on Tuesday in both national and senate parliaments) insisting that Nasa will neither participate in debating the laws nor will they participate in the repeat polls, slated for October 26.
“We are urging the speakers of the Senate and National Assembly to stop the criminal activity happening in Parliament. Jubilee is staging a coup on our Constitution,” Mr Mbadi said.
Dozens of Kenyans through Twitter have criticised Mr Mbadi, some claiming that he is illegally holding the current office, as “he did not even win in the May ODM party primaries.”
Mr Gyane Wahome tweeted: “John Mbadi...same guy who did not win ODM nominations but Baba went ahead and gave him the certificate.”
He added: “John Mbadi a beneficiary of bungled ODM nominations & a computer system MP trying to lecture who exactly...if you’re honest talk to Caroli.”
Others blamed Mr Mbadi for his hypocrisy as ODM, his party, has intuited a coup against the people of Kenya.
“Hon John Mbadi What Jubilee is doing is not different from ODM. You also staged a coup on Election yet you knew Uhuru won,” one Prophetess Hephzibah Tweeted.
Another Twitter user, Joseph Odhiambo tweeted: “John Mbadi next time you address a presser kindly avoid the term "Kenyans" please state it as it is "Luo Nation Affair".”
