Man kidnaps Facebook friend at birthday party

A man was kidnapped by a friend he met on Facebook who later demanded ransom.

A man was kidnapped by his new Facebook friend in Abia state

According to VanguardOzoemelam of Ugorji street, Aba, told the police he met an individual named Johnson on Facebook. After striking a conversation with him which lasted a few days, Johnson invited Ozoemelam to a birthday party.

The venue of the party was at  Ibegbulam Street, Omuma Road area, Aba. When he showed up at the birthday party, he was physically assaulted and forced to surrender his personal items including a mobile phone.

The phone was later used by the kidnappers to call Ozoemelam's senior brother to demand a ransom of N5m.

As luck would have it, Ozoemelam managed to escape from his kidnappers' lair at midnight and went to the police to report.

Mr LeyeOyebade, the  Abia State Commissioner of Police confirmed the report. Policemen moved swiftly to arrest the alleged leader of the kidnapping gang Prince Agorom.

In police custody, Prince Agorom reportedly confessed to being the leader of the gang. The police are presently on the hunt for the other suspects.
