Kenyan man drowns himself to appear in the media

This is his third and final suicide attempt.

A middle aged Naivasha man committed suicide after a long time promise that he would appear in the media for controversial reasons.

He dived into a flooded dam in Kinungi off the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

This is the third time the victim had attempted suicide after falling out with his wife over his threats to end his life.

According to The Standard, the deceased attempted to take his life the first two times by taking lethal chemicals.

Nakuru County Assembly Majority Leader Stanley Karanja further added that he was rescued by neighbours.

Karanja also said that such cases were on the rise and urged young people with marital issues to seek counselling from counsellors and church leaders.

A relative told the daily that the victim's wife had run off three days before the incident.

"She sought refuge at a friend’s house after numerous threats from her estranged husband and this was a wise decision otherwise we would be talking of another thing," he said.
