A woman accused of cutting off her boyfriend’s penis with a pair of gardening shears has revealed why she did it.
He lost 90 per cent of his penis in the attack in Nueva Corboda, Argentina, in November 2017. She is now being detained ahead of a trial following her arrest.

She told a reporter from his cell: ‘I cut his penis but not completely; I injured him. It wasn’t complete; I injured him. They didn’t find the video, I don’t know what happened.’
Barattini claimed that she never said it wasn’t her and that she didn’t do it for nothing. She added that the man hurt her and what he did to her should not be done to a human.
The 26-year-old says that the damage he did to her was very harmful and psychological, claiming that although her response may not have been perfect, at least it was a response.

She added: ‘I left to ask for help. I did not want anything to happen to him, besides, I was afraid of the blood.’
One of the lawyers of the mutilated man, Felipe Trucco, said that it was a very dangerous and violent incident and his client is depressed as he waits for the operations that still need to be done.
Barattini is serving imprisonment without bail ahead of her trial and reportedly said she regrets her decision.
