According to Ngunyi, Odinga’s hospitalization was a sympathy seeking move, “Raila was NOT Sick. He WAS JUST PLAYING politics.”
The political analyst also urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to be more ruthless if he wanted to survive politics.
“Raila is a reckless, old and jobless man and most men his age are eating potatoes with their grandchildren in their villages. But Raila is strong but he is also reckless, destructive and calculative,” Ngunyi opined.
According to Ngunyi, Kenyatta ought to be ruthless in dealing with the Opposition because if the country fails, he will be the one blamed but not the former Prime Minister.
Last week, the former Premier was hospitalized at the Karen Hospital with his personal aid confirming that he had suffered from food poisoning.
Odinga later clarified that he had not been poisoned after being discharged from hospital, calming the fear of many Kenyans.
“I thank the medical personnel who attended to me and diagnosed the problem correctly and fast at Karen Hospital, leading to quick recovery,” the Opposition leader stated.
Meanwhile, the former Prime Minister flew to South Africa where he went to see the progress of her daughter, Rosemary Odinga - currently undergoing treatment after she developed a brain tumor.
The Opposition leader will later fly to United States where he will hold meetings with dignitaries with regard to politics and other matters.
