Penile enlargement is the craft of making a penis become larger.

In most instances, it involves surgery. But there are other procedures such as pills, stretching exercises or implants.

Most men may find themselves in a situation where they wish they could make their members larger by at least an inch or two.

But is it really necessary?

Here are 6 things to consider before applying for the procedure.

1. Most women don't care about the size

Studies conducted by researchers have shown that 85% of women are satisfied with their partner's endowment.

2. Average penis length

The average length of the penis is 5-6 inches long. Since majority of men categorically fall in this size range, there is next to no need for an enlargement. The average vaginal length is 2.5- 3.8 inches. The average length of the penis is already adequately elongated to satisfy the average vagina.

3. What the surgery includes

Penile enlargement via surgery involves cutting the ligament that joins the penis to the pelvic area. When the ligament is cut, the penis gets an extra inch in length and causes it to point downwards when erect.

Surgery to increase penis girth requires injecting fat from elsewhere in the body. This causes it to look uneven and lumpy and the fat disappears over time.

4. The surgery cost

Cosmetic penile alteration surgery costs up to Sh700, 000.

5. Results

Studies show that only 27% of men who have undergone the surgery were pleased with the results of the procedure.

6. Alternatives

If seeking penile enlargement is for appearance's sake, you're better off trimming your pubic hair to make your member look larger.

Research shows that most men end up with anxiety over the appearance of their members because of the first erotic images they were exposed to in pornography. This can be avoided by sticking to more- realistic- ranges of eroticism.

Psychotherapy can also be a better option to deal with any issues you may have from perceived "shortcomings".
