6 stylish yet convenient ways to dress while breastfeeding

It is officially the end of the World Breastfeeding Week and what better way to end it than on a light and fashionable note.

1.Layer your clothes

Try wearing a tank top under your favorite shirt or top so that you have easy access to feeding your baby and still look stylish in your outfit.

2.Nursing bras

Just like any other bra, a nursing bra needs to be comfortable and well-fitted otherwise everything will just be falling out everywhere and we really wouldn’t want that.

So make sure that you get a good quality nursing bra that won’t give you a lot of trouble while you are breastfeeding.

3.Play with patterns

According to motherhood style blogger Deauvanné Athanasakis, wearing clothes with patterns can help with hiding milk spillage and baby vomit for example a patterned scarf.

On top of that it helps to amp up your outfit.

4.Dresses

Don’t leave out dresses when spicing up your breastfeeding wardrobe.

Wrap, over the shoulder and strappy dresses are great especially when you are breastfeeding.

Skater dresses and and maxi dresses also help to hide anything that you may want to cover up.

5.Do not restrict yourself

Try out jumpsuits and play suits.

You can try jumpsuits that have a wrap or button or zip front which make it easy for breastfeeding.

Picking one with an elastic band helps in decreasing your stomach as well.

6.Ensure you wear clothes that flatter your shape

Avoid clothes that may be too tight as well those that will not be very flattering to your shape.

Deauvanné recommends paying close attention to the hemline and neckline of clothes to ensure they flatter your body shape.

Synthetic clothes should also be avoided in order to avoid sweating which can occur during breastfeeding.

Bonus tip: Make sure you buy clothes that are easy to clean and which one does not have to stress so much about clean up.
