Mercy Myra tells fans a story about her mother
Feels like love
the story behind her beaded braids as tribute to her mother Lillian Akiny Grundberg. In a post on her Instagram page @themercymyra she shared a picture of her mother, sister Dana who is also a singer and herself rocking somewhat the same hairdo with a long post of what it means. It says:
"Happy new week yall. Ok..so this week I ask.. "Whatchu rockin.. "My gorgeous mommy aka LILLIAN AKINYI GRUNDBERG, my gorgeous aunt (my mothers sister) and yours truly..Meeeeeee... my mom rocked this hairstyle in the 70's and when Dana and I grew up, we rocked it too. Story behind my mom rocking the coins in her hair was she was always set apart from her peers. A style and fashionista always forward and always with a twist. So she wore the original Kenyan coins that had holes in them mixed in with Spanish original coins too. The first time she visited Spain, the local folk were quite surprised at how she must be a gazzillionair to the point she had to rock original currency on her hair. . Now that's what i call swaggaliciously pimped out.. ❤️❤️❤️. Yall enjoy this new beginning of a week. BlessingsToYouAll by my mommy of the family "
