6 celebs who were 'killed' by the Internet

Brenda was said to have died in the US due to illness.

While, it’s not as harsh as what happened to Chase Bank late last year that saw their numbers dropping in millions, their supposed deaths stirred the internet.

1. Churchill

Comedian and founder of the Churchill show, Daniel Ndambuki was eating when he heard the news that he had been killed. A UK based blog claimed that the comedian cum radio presenter had been involved in a greasily accident along Mai Mahiu-Suswa road. They even went on to showcase a SUV that had been crashed before eulogizing him and giving Intel from the police and relatives. Churchill had to switch off his phone to avoid having to repeat himself to the many worried people.

2. OJ

Late last year, arguably one of the most iconic actors in the Kenyan film industry, David Mugo who is popularly known as OJ from Citizen’s Tahidi High was said to have died at home after experience respiratory problems. Written by an anonymous blog in search of number’s the story was initially about the late Kevin Rost, another Tahidi High member of cast, who passed on after a short illness but it was twisted to make it look like it was OJ. It seems Tahidi High has it’s fair share of internet murders as Omosh has also been virtually killed due to drinking.

3. Maina Kageni

True to its word, death has no preference, even if cybernetic and top radio presenter Maina Kageni can attest to it after a Tanzanian website reported that he was no more after an alleged car accident in Tanzania.

4. Nonini

Hubert Nikatare (Yup, that’s his real name) the King of Genge was killed by the internet at the beginning of this year with stories claiming that he was involved in a car accident along Mombasa road on his way back from a performance in Coast for new year’s eve, a story that was accompanied with very crude photos of the alleged accident complete with a dead body covered by a blue sheet. The rapper didn’t take to kindly the actions of the faceless blogger. This is what he had to say to his fans on Facebook, “And as we get into a new year still blogs coming with cheap stories to attract numbers. So Sad. Just want to confirm to my fans, family and friends that am okay and this is a hoax. Thanking God for allowing us to see another year. Blessed 2017."

5. Brenda Wairimu

Drop dead gorgeous you mean.

Top actress and wife to musical pundit Juliani, was murdered by the internet last month after the hilarious news that she has fallen ill and shortly after died at the age of 27, in US where she was trying to seal an endorsement deal. In her response all she to say was, “Dead! Pun intended. I am using heavenly Wifi” LOL!

6. Mama Baha

Imagine waking up to the news that you committed suicide. Spooky huh? Well, this is what Wanjiku Mburu famously known as Mama Baha from Citizen’s Machachari had to deal with early last year after the news got to her that the internet claimed suicide over her life. Quite the soft spoken person, she refused to comment stating that she was still in shock over the news.
