9 interesting things about Esther Passaris that you should know

Esther Passaris is set to be the next Nairobi Women’s Representative having garnered 824,428 votes edging out her fiercest rival Jubilee Party’s Rachel Shebesh who garnered 666,012 votes so far.

Passaris is without a doubt one of the most controversial women in Kenya owing most of it to her vocal and open nature.

Plive.co.ke compiled a list of facts about Esther Passaris that you should know.

1.She was the preferred women candidate for Women Representative

According to a poll conducted last year, Passaris was termed to be the more preferred candidate for Women’s Representative leading with a rating of 29 percent as compared to Rachel Shebesh’s 26 percent.

The poll was conducted between January 30 and February 3 by the Trends and Insights for Kenya (TIFA)

2.This is her second time vying for the Nairobi Women Representative seat

She first vied for the Nairobi Women Representative seat in 2013 which she lost to Jubilee Party’s Rachel Shebesh.

3.She was running for governor before choosing to vie for the Nairobi Women’s Representative seat

Before running for the Nairobi Women Representative, Passaris had shown interest in running for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat.

She ended up switching to vie for the Women Representative seat under an ODM ticket.

4.She once vied for the Member of Parliament for Embakasi

Passaris once vied for the Member of Parliament for Embakasi under the Kenya National Congress Party.

5.Awards

Esther Passaris has won an award for the 2016 most influential woman in business and government by CEO Global.

She also won a UN Habitat Business award in 2009 and the Order of Grand Warrior award in 2008.

6.Education

She has a diploma in Law from the University of London and studied for Advanced Management at Strathmore University.

7.She is a former beauty queen

She was a runners-up for the Miss Kenya contest.

8.She suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Dyslexia
