Kenyan waterfalls that deserve more visitors.

With Kenya having over ten waterfalls, many of them are located in tourist sites while others appear to be an innocuous part of a body of water.

Some waterfalls stand out in their beauty and their majesty but aren't as well known or visited as their counterparts.

For instance, Fourteen Falls in Thika and the Thomson's falls in Nyahururu are known by all and sundry.

But what about the more "obscure" ones?

Here are 6 Kenyan waterfalls you need to add to your to-visit list.

1. Ndaraca ya Ngai (God's Bridge)- Kirinyaga

This was a hideaway along River Nyamidi for the freedom fighters in the fight to get freedom from colonial rule. Maumau warriors would use the natural bridge as a hideaway. British colonial officers never found the scene.

Nobody really knows how it came into existence but it's beauty is one that is undeniable.

2.  Rapids Waterfalls- Sagana

These are a waterfalls located at the Sagana Rapids Camp. It is a camp that offers a range of services including white water rafting, ziplining and camping. They are located in Sagana Town along Murang'a Road.

3. Zania Falls- Aberdares National Park

Located in the Aberdare National Park in Nyeri, the falls are a calling card to adventurers. Boasting of a 200m fall, they are a hidden treasure in the Zania River Valley after a 10km through the forest.

4. Karuru Falls- Aberdares National Park

Do you like birds? Are you a hiking enthusiast? They are the longest and highest waterfalls in Kenya with an impressive 237m drop.

They are found in Nyandarua County and are home to 78% of Kenya's highland species of birds.

It has five steep hills for climbers with the highest being Ol Donyo Esatima which stands at 4001m.

5. Webuye Falls- Bungoma

Previously called Broderick Falls,they are located in Bungoma County. They are exactly 7km from Webuye Town. The river emerges from Cherangani Hills passes through Nabuyole Village where it disperses into three tributaries whereby a waterfall develops.

6. Sheldrick Falls- Shimba Hills National Reserve

Found in Kwale County, the 21m falls are found in the Shimba Hills National Reserve which boasts of a diverse range of wildlife.
