Pictures of the presidential coach have just emerged and we've got to say, no finances seem to have been spared.

The prices have been set at Sh700 for business class and Sh3000 for first class.
Furnished with expensive wood, the coach is set with a state of the art table for ten.
Set to share the ride with his Jubilee elect, Uhuru will be launching the new train that is meant to change the transport system in Kenya in a move to elevate the country's development and economy.

Kenya Railways Corporation has announced that Kenyans will pay Sh700 for economy class and Sh3000, first class for the passenger service on the new Standard Gauge Railway.

Dubbed ‘Madaraka Express’ the Standard Gauge Railway will operate two types of trains. One will be intercity and the other intercounty.
Below are their specifics.
1. Intercity
Route: Nairobi- Mombasa
Intervals: Every city
Time: 4 ½ hours
Capacity: 1200
2. Intercounty
Route: Nairobi – Mombasa
Stations: Mariakani, Maisenyi, Voi, Mtito Andei, Kibwezi, Emali and Athi River
Time: 5 ½ hours
With the SGR set to built to reduce transport costs compared to road transport, shorten the distance between the Nairobi and Mombasa whilst offering safer and cheaper transit for freight and persons a lot has been done to ensure the swift and efficient simultaneous movement of both types of trains.
There are 33 stations comprising of 2 main stations in Nairobi and Mombasa, 7 intermediate and 24 more crossing stations set to admin the Standard Gauge Railway for both passenger and consignment trains.
Charges given for containerized cargo from the Port in Mombasa to the Inland Container Depot, Nairobi is not more than Sh50,000 (500$) and sh32,800 for any other freight.
This is a major decline in the cost of cargo transport that has been costing between Sh80,000 and Sh90,000 in the recent past.
The time taken will also be reduced to 8 hours from 24.
