These are the Top 10 TV and radio stations in Kenya

The African media landscape is growing ever more diversified. Brands and broadcasters no longer need to make decisions based on outdated information, risking valuable advertising dollars. Geo Poll’s overnight media ratings deliver daily insights on audience measurement data for TV, Radio and print.

 

Using the daily data collected through GeoPoll's Media Measurement Service, GeoPoll has analysed the top TV and Radio Stations in 8 African Countries for Q3 2016. It has been examining ratings and audience share for the top stations in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique and Nigeria to provide media insights into markets where data is scarce.

The organisation has just released a report with audience statistics on Top TV Stations and Top Radio Stations for Quarter 3 2016 in Kenya.

According to Geo poll, Radio Citizen has the top spot, averaging 15.4% of all listeners. Its TV counterpart Citizen TV is the most watched averaging 33.5% of viewers followed by KTN at 11.2%.

The report shows that Radio Citizen is king with Radio Maisha taking the second position with 11.2%. A position which in the past been occupied by Radio Jambo. Ramogi F.M leads in the vernacular section with 4% with Inooro and Kameme F.M taking the 2nd and 3rd position in the vernacular section respectively.

As expected in the TV section Citizen gets the lion's share with 33.5% .

KTN comes in at a distant second with 11.2% while its sister KTN News comes in third with an average of 8.1%, proving that KTN made a great decision in launching this station. NTV shockingly comes in 4th followed by national broadcaster KBC. Citizen TV's Inooro TV proves itself a formidable force as it makes it to the top ten at number 9.
