Willis Raburu just got married in what we can safely call an unexpected wedding that caught the media and his rather large fan base off guard. But while you would expect it to be met with well wishes from his crowd, Kenyans have proven to have no chills when it comes to sniffing out the drama.

Her name is Mary Ngami, a face in Raburu’s life that was unfamiliar to many of his fans up till Friday when their marriage was announced. Amidst the elations that came with the surprise news, stood out a select that demanded to know how he moved from his former fiancée Sally Mbilu to marrying a new woman after just one year.

The story behind their separation is one that is yet to be explained. Rumours of Willis’ infidelity came to light at their separation when Mbilu removed the super expensive ring that he had given her when he proposed in Dubai. Now, his marriage to Mary has left his fans wondering if she was running as an independent candidate even when Mbilu was the first lady

Even worse, tribalism seems to be spreading beyond Kenyan politics with some of his fans coming at him for marrying a Kikuyu. Some of the shocking and very disheartening comments claim the bride’s interest in Raburu’s hard fortunes. One even quoted the iconic case of Silvano Melea Otieno’s, a reknown criminal lawyer whose death resulted in precedent setting succession suits. What most refer to as the Wambui Otieno’s case.

As if that’s not enough, one guy claimed to have slept with the bride twice and with indifference shushed whoever objected his tweet.

As one of the most celebrated news anchor and host of Citizen TV’s 10 over 10, Willis has kept a low profile concerning his personal life. We doubt we’ll ever get to see the honeymoon photos but hey, it’s been a lit affair if Twitter is anything to go by and his true fans got his back.
